I drove to Brooklyn for this awesome cake.

It didn't fare well on the way back...the whole bottom layer collapsed. We managed to Frankenstein it together, and as long as you look at it from more than 10 feet away and have cataracts it is not entirely horrible.

I am just not so good at the whole 'painterly' art thing. I am too much of a cartoonist. If I were a painter I would have made every strand of hair as opposed to just filling in black.

I can't believe it's Friday again already. Yikes.

I drew this for IF and as I am posting it I realize that I totally forgot to color in the stinking tail feathers. Well, I don't have time to fix that now.

If you don't know already, it is the image of Osamu Tezuka's "Phoenix", a manga which I have never actually read, but hope to soon. I believe there will be a full English translation soon.

I cut and pasted the logo from the cover of one of the Phoenix graphic novels. I love those letters. Does anyone know of a font based on them?
